Student Arts Grants

Brand new funding for your arts activities!

The application deadline for this academic year has now passed. Please keep an eye on our website for 2019/20 arts grant application deadlines.

Do you have an idea for a fabulous arts-related activity but need funding to make it happen?

LU Arts is committed to encouraging student participation in the arts. To facilitate this, we are delighted to announce our Student Arts Grants, new for the 2018/19 academic year. These are open to all taught and research students studying at Loughborough University and Loughborough University London. Successful applicants will gain funding and support to help them develop creative projects, which increase the presence of the arts on the campus and give students the opportunity to engage as an audience member or participant.

Funds of up to £1,000 are available for affiliated and unaffiliated groups of students.  Examples of how funds could be used include:

- societies delivering ambitious events or programmes;

- the organisation of arts events as part of health and wellbeing activity; or

- workshops/training by arts professionals

- the production of new work for display on campus.

It could equally be none of these things, and we are very open to a wide range of ideas. We will not fund equipment or travel for individuals, or work that forms part of a taught or research curriculum activity.

In addition to funding, LU Arts will provide successful applicants with support in delivering and marketing their events. You will gain valuable, transferable skills as part of this process.

We will happily meet with propsective applicants to discuss their application, and provide feedback to those who were not successful. Please contact David Bell on 01509 222881 or email d.m.bell@lboro.ac.uk.

To request a copy of the application form email LUArts@lboro.ac.uk or download the application form (the Word document will automatically download when you click this link).  Email your completed application form to LUArts@lboro.ac.uk. This will then be assessed by a panel from LU Arts.

Important notes:
The lead organiser(s) must all be students of Loughborough University or Loughborough University London, although events can take place off-campus. Funding will support artist fees/expenses, technical support, equipment hire and anything else that directly relates to the activity. It is not intended to provide individual students with a wage or funds. Events must take place during University term-time, unless prior exemption has been obtained from LU Arts.
