Jonathan Meuli: Icons for Atheists (exhibition)

From: Mon 2 September, 12:00am
To: Sat 28 September, 12:00am

Opening times: By appointment

Venue: Martin Hall Exhibition Space

Curated by Professor Phillip Lindley

Dr Jonathan Meuli is a painter based in Glasgow. He graduated from the Ruskin School in Oxford in 1982. This show comprises ten new works, painted specifically for this exhibition, with two earlier works. The theme was suggested by an architect friend who was looking at a painting, combining geometrical and expressive abstraction, in Meuli's Glasgow studio. He remarked that it looked like 'an icon for atheists'. Professor Phillip Lindley (Professor of Art History at Loughborough University) suggested to Jonathan that he explored the theme for Loughborough and these ten new works are the impressive result.

To access the exhibition during office hours, come along to the LU Arts office in Martin Hall (MHL0.13) or telephone the office on 01509 222948. The exhibition will also have occasional lunchtime openings.

All are welcome to join us for a closing event on Wednesday 25 September, 4-6pm. No need to RSVP, simply turn up on the day.
