*For Loughborough University students only*

Mark the start of LGBT History Month with an exploration of LGBT+ poetry. This workshop, run by PhD student Sophia Kier-Byfield, will be in two parts. First, participants will discuss selected texts by LGBT+ writers from English literary history. Then, after several texts have been explored as inspiration, there will be free writing time. The idea is that everyone shares their writing at the end of the workshop, but participants are also welcome to simply listen and encourage others.

With the participants' consent, the writing will be collected at the end of the workshop and made into a zine by Sophia. The zine will then be distributed around the university as well as deposited at the Loughborough University archive as part of a new initiative to build an archive of current student experience and activism in the arts. Participants are welcome to come along to the archive for this - the details of the archival visit will be confirmed at a later date.

The workshop is open and inclusive. No previous writing experience is required, and everyone is welcome.

A £3 deposit per person must be paid at the time of booking. On completion of the workshop, this will receive the equivalent in loyalty points to spend on purchases in LSU. This deposit is non-refundable if you do not turn up on the day
